Prescription Access
Prescription Access (Formerly knows as Prescription for Care) is a prescription assistance pharmacy service that was initiated by the Columbus Medical Association Foundation, and is administered by Columbus Neighborhood Health Center, Inc. In 2000, more than thirty health and human service agencies collaborated and formed an umbrella prescription assistance program for the uninsured and low-income residents of Franklin County in Columbus, Ohio. Today, funds are provided by the Franklin County Office on Aging Senior Services Levy, Central Ohio Diabetes Association, and Community Health Charities Ohio.
Prescription Access pools resources, coordinates prescription health care services and provides access to affordable medications for uninsured persons. Cost effective medications are made accessible through pharmacies, manufacturer prescription assistance plans, and a pharmacy benefit manager.
This health center is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b,
and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n).
